Knit like a Viking at Kiri Cottage - Kircubbin

Kiri Cottage Crafts, Kiri Cottage, 6 Loughdoo Road, Ardkeen, County Down, BT22 1HJ
Hand spun wool and nalbinding needles

About

This event is organised by Kiri Cottage Crafts.

Nalbinding is a very old method of making wooden fabric, using a needle and yarn. It predates knitting and crochet by about 2000 years, and is mainly seen as a Scandinavian craft, although examples have been found across the world.

This workshop will introduce you to the craft, and give you plenty of time to do learn 'oslo' stitch.

All equipment and materials are provided (we will use my Kiri Cottages own hand spun wool), and you can take extra supplies home so that you can keep practicing.

Suitable for age 12+ and all under 18's to be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a maximum of 6 in the class.

Tea, coffee and homemade cakes or scones are included in the cost of the workshop, which is based in the Kiri Cottage Crafts workshop, close to the shores of Strangford Lough.
