The annual Comber Earlies Food Festival is a wonderful day out filled with family fun, cookery demos in the Festival Kitchen and activities that celebrate the Comber Earlies potato which holds PGI Status, part of Taste Summer in Ards and North Down running 19 - 30 June.

Alongside Rachel Allen and Lotte Duncan, there will be a variety of local chefs wowing us with their culinary talents, including, Jim Mulholland from No. 14 The Georgian House, Comber and Gavin Murphy from The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn.

Gavin joined the Galgorm Collection in June 2021. From working in a restaurant for a summer school where he discovered his love for cooking, to starting his career professionally in 1984, he has a wealth of experience from time spent in hospitality in London, Dublin, Mayo, Fermanagh, Cambridge and more recently County Down, Northern Ireland. Gavin’s midweek signature dish would be a traditional Irish Stew and recommends a fish dish of your choice for special occasions, you can’t go wrong with that!
