Comber Earlies Potatoes
The Comber Earlies crop, are the first harvest of the season and are full of flavour. Comber Earlies potatoes have enjoyed Protected Geographical Indication status since 2012. The preferred method of cooking is steaming.
Storage Of Potatoes
Potatoes are best when prepared just before cooking to conserve nutrients. It is important to store the potatoes properly.
Remove them from the plastic bag and store in a dark cold dry place.
Steaming
Wash or scrub potatoes, place in a steamer over a pan of water. Bring to boil and steam until soft. Drain and serve.
Boiling
Wash or scrub potatoes, boil lightly in water or milk and water, with a sprig of mint - and serve with a good knob of butter and a sprinkling of sea salt.
Microwave
(650w) Wash or scrub potatoes, place in a non-metallic bowl and add 45ml of water. Cover and cook at full power for 7 minutes. Allow to stand for 1 minute before serving.
