Leid and Lairn: The Story of the Ulster-Scots in Ards

Ards Arts Centre, Town Hall Arts Centre, Conway Square, Newtownards, County Down, BT23 4NP
Valhalla Street Theatre

About

Join Valhalla Street Theatre for an animated walking tour of Newtownards exploring its rich Ulster-Scots history.

Departs from Ards Arts Centre

Taking in The Priory, Market Cross and the old Town Hall (Ards Arts Centre), this event requires standing and walking outside and so unfortunately it may not be suitable for everyone.

Please come prepared for the weather!

From the settlement of the Montgomery's in 1606 to the execution of the Reverend William Warwick from Kircubbin Presbyterian in 1798, see how these historic characters played a fundamental role in the development of Newtownards as we know it today.

As always, Valhalla Street Theatre will bring to life these historic stories through drama and performance and give the audience a unique insight into our local history that is both fascinating and entertaining.
