Maritime family fun in the sun at Sea Bangor this weekend (3 and 4 June)
31st May 2023
The forecast is looking lovely for a marvellous weekend in the sun at Sea Bangor, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June. Bangor’s popular maritime festival will open from 12noon until 6pm on both days, with a host of entertainment and activities for all the family.
Quay Street car park at Bangor Seafront will take on a distinct holiday atmosphere with the return of the Urban Beach, funfair rides and outside bar. Families will be able to enjoy a seaside ‘rave’ and then relax before heading to the pier for some delicious food demos and the popular on-water activities. Enjoy fantastic E-foiling displays, the latest in watersport innovation, where an electric powered surfboard on a hydrofoil wing lifts almost one metre out of the water.
Once you’ve soaked up all the fun, you can sit and relax along the pier where you can listen to Bangor Ukes and Comber Brass on Saturday, and Sing Happy Choir and Harmonic Sounds on Sunday, acoustic music sessions in the outdoor bar will add to the relaxed atmosphere throughout the weekend. While on the pier, pick up some culinary tips at food demonstrations and refuel with a range of hot food trucks and a summer bar!
HMS Penzance, a Sandown-class Royal Navy minehunter vessel, and HMS Raider, a small patrol boat from Scotland will be docked at the Eisenhower pier.
Artemis the world’s first high speed fully electric foiling commercial vessel will also be on site with
on-the-water demonstrations scheduled to take place at 1.30pm and 3.30pm on the Saturday and Sunday, with the best viewing opportunities available from the Seacliff Road.
Hop on board the free land train from the McKee Clock to Pickie Fun Park throughout the weekend.
Come and join the fun and visit Bangor Seafront on 3 and 4 June from 12noon to 6pm!
