Embark on a captivating journey through time as you learn about a "Survivor's Tale: The Story of the Princess Victoria." This unique experience brings to life the poignant events of 1953, offering a glimpse into a pivotal moment in local maritime history. The afternoon begins at Copeland Distillery with a welcome drink.
While here you will engage with compelling characters from the bustling shipyard to the tense radio room who will bring history to life.
Your host will the lead the group on a short walk to the Sir Samuel Kelly Lifeboat where visitors will be invited to step aboard the lifeboat, interact with artifacts, and send Morse code messages.
The journey culminates in a celebration of resilience featuring local musicians as you enjoy refreshments.
With only 24 tickets available, this exclusive event promises to be a fascinating experience connecting you deeply with the past and honouring those who lived through this remarkable chapter.
A light finger buffet will be provided.

Getting there
By car: From Belfast follow A2 to Donaghadee Rd/High Bangor Rd/B21 in Bangor. At Donaghadee Rd Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Donaghadee Rd/High Bangor Rd/B21. Follow the signs towards Donaghadee. Follow A48 to The Parade.
Parking is available at Copeland Distillery and Marina Car Park. Car park is sign posted
On street parking - free after 6pm
By public transport: Bus is available from Carrowdore to Donaghadee - short walk from seafront to the Distillery. See Translink for timetables.
Toilets are available at Copeland Distillery, limited toilet facilities are also available at Sir Samuel Kelly Lifeboat Heritage Centre. Please note there are no disabled toilets on site.
