Calling all sea swimmers! Dive into spring with an extraordinary adventure on Strangford Lough. Break free from your usual swim spots and embark on our exhilarating rib ride to a hidden gem among the lough's many islands. Discover the captivating history of this mysterious isle before plunging into its sheltered waters. Take a trip on our fast rib down Strangford lough stopping off at a remote island for a swim & snorkel. Swim ashore or explore beneath the surface with our provided snorkelling gear, all under the watchful eye of our experienced crew. After your invigorating dip, warm up with a hot drink before we whisk you back to Sketrick Island. This unique experience combines thrill, history, and the raw beauty of Strangford Lough – perfect for adventurous souls seeking a fresh challenge!

Things to note
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to get kitted up. Park next to castle and walk up lane to your left to pontoon and boats where your skipper will meet you and help,
Wear your swimwear under clothes. Bring a warm wooly hat and light waterproof jacket or Dryrobe,
Suitable for ages 12yrs +
Participants must be able to swim at least 50 metres
Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Lifejackets and waterproofs provided.
 

SAFETY RESTRICTIONS - This experience is NOT suitable for anyone with epilepsy, back or spine issues, anyone who is pregnant and anyone with any other known issues that might be affected by the impact of wave (Whole Body Vibration).  Participants will be required to confirm to the provider that they are not affected by any of the above before boarding the boat.  If you have a family history of osteoporosis or are unsure of whether your medical condition may place you at risk, please consult your physician before booking.

 

Dietary requirements 
Please ensure that you check with all members of your party regarding food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements prior to booking tickets.
It is the responsibility of the ticketholder to inform a member of staff at the host venue about food allergies, intolerances and specific dietary requirements. Please inform the host venue about ALL food allergies, intolerances and specific dietary requirements at the time of booking or at least 72 hours in advance, but contacting Andy at Strangford Lough Boat Tours via email at

Getting there
By Car:
From Belfast take the A23 towards Ballygowan.  Continue straight onto the Moss Road/ Ballydunden Road.  Follow the A22 towards Killinchy and the Whiterock Road.  At the end of the Whiterock road turn left onto Whiterock Bay.  Continue along Whiterock Bay until approaching bridge on the right.  Follow the bridge to Sketrick Island, destination on the left.

Parking is beside or in front of the Castle. Leave the tepee village to your right and walk up a gentle slope towards a green cabin. You will see the stockade and our boat to your left.

Roadside parking is available at Whiterock, this is limited so please leave plenty of time for your journey and arrival.

Carers are welcome, however tickets must be purchased if they wish to participate.
Where practicable providers within the Experience AND Programme will aim to accommodate carers and be as inclusive as possible. With such a diverse range of activities, operated by a number of providers, it is necessary for this to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
