Picnic in the Park

Ward Park - Bandstand, Access via Hamilton Road or Gransha Road, Bangor, County Down, BT20 4LH
Bluegrass picnic

About

The popular family-friendly Picnic in the Park event returns to Ward Park for another summer with free live music at the bandstand from 3 – 5pm every Sunday in July and August. Just pack a picnic, bring a rug or folding chairs and some suncream (or waterproofs!) and enjoy the best of the summer in the open air.

We have a great programme of live music including...

7 July | The Gold Tips, a non-stop soul hurricane

14 July | All female alternative rock band Monday's Child

21 July | Lads Of The Lough, a lively five-piece from the shores of Lough Neagh. They play folk, traditional, and bluegrass music with a very modern twist.

28 July | Local favourites Jackie Rainey and the Sweet Beats

4 August | Punk classics from Wasted Talent

11 August | The five piece AC?DC delivering songs from the Bon Scott era

18 August | Anna's number, renowned for their expansive, inventive setlist – from 60s rock ‘n’ roll to 70s funk/soul classics to noughties Clubland bangers

And,

The Broken String Band wrapping up the summer at our Big Bluegrass Picnic on 25th August.
