About

Join us to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Model Railway Day at Ulster Transport Museum. We are delighted to announce the return of this much loved event after a brief hiatus in 2020.

This year, Model Railway Day will be taking place in the Rail Galleries here at Ulster Transport Museum Cultra. The event is organised is association with the Friends of Cultra, with support from enthusiasts from across the UK and Ireland with over 100 exhibitors involved.

This year there will be over 30 layouts and associated exhibits for you to enjoy. Exhibiting amongst the Irish layouts will be Tony Raggs 'Octavia Hill' layout depicting the Great Northern Railway Clones and Portadown depots, 'Fenaghy Junction' from the Northern Counties group, and a working Lego model of Lisburn train station. We will also be presenting our own Gordon Johnson diorama which has been lovingly restored to working order by our own William McBride.

We recommend booking in advance as this event is always a popular one.
