1. Where is the May Day event located? The annual May Day event is located in the town of Holywood, Co. Down, which is transformed into a pedestrianised hub of activity. High Street, Holywood BT18 9AB.

Holywood is approximately a 15-minute drive from Belfast and 2 hours from Dublin.
Ards and North Down is very well connected by land, sea and air with major airports and seaports close by.
Getting to the event
Public transport - nearest rail stop is Holywood, located approx a 10 minute walk from the town centre. By car - Do you plan to drive to the event? Allow plenty of time for your journey. If you are travelling by car follow directional road signs to Holywood and check out what car parking is available in the town.

2. Road restrictions
Road closures | Please note, there will be some disruption to traffic in Holywood on Friday 2nd May between 9am and 11am, as preparations/practice for May Day’s Maypole dancing are taking place. Road Closures will also be in effect on May Day, Monday 5th May 2025 to facilitate the May Day event. Holywood Town Centre will be closed from 6am – 6pm including High Street, Church Road and Shore Road.
3. Parking Car parks – Ards and North Down Borough Council - Free to use and Charged.
