Local chefs, producers, food and drink- all at Comber Earlies Food Festival this Saturday 22 June, 2024!
Join us for Comber Earlies Food Festival for delicious treats and a celebration of local food and drink.
As well as picking up your Comber Earlies potatoes, the festival is a great opportunity to taste and buy local food and drink, hear from foodie experts and local producers; and to pick up tips from Ballymaloe's Rachel Allen and a host of local chefs.
Browse foodie stalls and try new local artisan food and drink, including a new limited-edition beer brought to the festival by McBride's on the Square.
In 2022, McBrides on the Square brought their first Local Craft Beer and Spirit Bar to the Comber Earlies Food Festival, part of Ards and North Down Borough Council's annual Taste Summer programme showcasing local produce and producers in the Borough.
Iris McBride, owner of McBrides on the Square, Comber tells us about the evolution of their craft beer, "We were overwhelmed by the feedback we received. We quickly realised that attending a festival can be a fantastic way for people to discover these unique local brews. Not only do you get to sample a wide variety of local craft beers and spirits in one place, but you also have the chance to meet the brewers behind them. This can provide fascinating insights into the brewing process and the inspiration behind each one.
Last year, we launched our own McBrides Craft IPA at the festival and it is now firmly established as a permanent fixture in our pub. This year, it seemed like a natural progression to have a Limited Edition Festival Beer and we again teamed up with Chris from Modest to bring you 'It's Never Too Early', a soft and fruity Hazy Pale Ale at 4.5%. It will be available on draught and in 440ml cans and will go down a treat with a plate of Comber Earlies."
