Success For Local Food and Drink Businesses at National and All Ireland Awards!

The profile of Ards & North Down as a home of fantastic food was given another significant boost this week with our local producers picking up both major food awards and coveted finalist places highlighting the excellent standard of produce on offer from the area.
The Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards announced their finalist's places last Friday. With 145 finalists places up for grabs, five local companies took 11 finalist places with a broad range of products. The five companies are: Clandeboye Estate Yoghurt in Bangor, Glastry Farm Ice Cream in Kircubbin, Slice of Heaven in Newtownards, Rich Sauces of Newtownards and Willowbrook Foods of Killinchy. These businesses now await the finalists awards ceremony in Dublin on September 4.
Tuesday saw the Great Taste Awards announced by the Guild of Fine Food in London with, Ballyboley Dexters, Clandeboye Estate Yoghurt, Glastry Farm Ice Cream Holywood Honey, Mash Direct, Moorcroft Foods, Springmount Farm and Totally Hot NI taking home 12 Great Taste “stars”.
The week was topped off with the news that Ballyboley Dexters are one of five NI Great Taste winners selected for the prestigious “Golden Fork” awards with the overall Northern Ireland Regional and the overall UK winner announced on 11 September,
