Northern Ireland world recognises Donaghadee and Greyabbey in 'Top 9 rural towns with plenty of character in Northern Ireland'

Northern Ireland World has recognised both Donaghadee at number 5 and Greyabbey at number 7, County Down in the top 9 rural towns that have plenty of Character.
Donaghadee, County Down (5)
On the northeast coast of the Ards Peninsula, Donaghadee is one of NI’s few lifeboat stations, known for its harbour and lighthouse. Scenic walks around the village include the marine walk at The Commons, comprising of a 16-acre open space with bowls, tennis, putting and an adventure playground. Donaghadee is also known for its restaurants and pubs, including Grace Neill’s, which opened in 1611 and is claimed to be the oldest bar in Ireland, although that title is yet to be verified.
Greyabbey, County Down (7)
Aptly named, Greyabbey is a small village in County Down known for its grey abbey, praised as one of the best examples of Anglo-Norman architecture in Northern Ireland. The remains of the magnificent abbey are open to the public, with free entry providing the perfect activity for any keen walkers, historian or individual looking to visit the iconic site. Greyabbey also sits on the shores of Strangford Lough, providing an opportunity to see amazing views over the water on clear days.
