Taste Autumn in Ards and North Down will showcase our seafood, beef and harvest foods through a packed programme of restaurant experiences, meet the maker events, as well as an artisan food and drink market, offering something for all palates.
Week one starts with the delicious Taste Portaferry Food Tour (10 Sep) followed by a series of events in Donaghadee that include a Taste Donaghadee Food Tour (17 Sep) and a Taste Donaghadee Artisan Market (17 Sep).
Why not get all jazzed up for week two which kicks off with No.14 Georgian House Jazz in the Garden in Comber (18 Sep), or choose a unique dining experience as the newly opened Bull & Claw in Portaferry team up with Echlinville Distillery (21 Sep).
That’s not all! Treat you and the family to stargazing at Ballyhalbert’s Burr Point (22 Sep). You can enjoy a hot chocolate and explore the skies with the Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society and their telescopes.
Dine at the Dock (23 Sep) in Portavogie will be hosted by celebrity chef Theo Randall who has curated a five-course tasting menu with the team at South Eastern Regional College. The evening will offer a rare opportunity to dine in an unusual pop-up restaurant that has been transformed from a fish market into a magical marine themed world!
The Taste Autumn foodie fortnight culminates with three events on 24 September including the flagship Tide and Turf Food Festival in Portavogie. A jam-packed day will include cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs Theo Randall and Suzie Lee, plus there will be a host of food and drink stalls showcasing the best of local produce with a focus on seafood and beef.
Live music and children’s activities including a funfair will help to keep the entire family entertained so make sure you don’t miss out and grab one of the free buses from Bangor, Newtownards or Portaferry for this free-to-attend event!
