About

Learning to kitesurf will change your life – it’s as simple as that. After work sessions in the long summer evenings replace streaming the latest box set.

Weekend adventures out to the brooding winter waves of Ireland’s west coast or the mighty North coast replace Saturday afternoons in the pub – while tropical kite holidays to far flung destinations make lying by a pool a distant memory. For a kitesurfer, life is refreshingly void of dull moments.

Getting to this stage though does require a little effort. Kitesurfing is a surprisingly easy sport to learn but the initial stages can be daunting and dangerous without the tutelage and guidance of a suitably qualified and insured instructor.

Northern Ireland's only accredited (IKO )  kitesurfing school based in North Down.  Certified IKO Level 2 Instructor with over 12 years of teaching experience.

The Kitesurf Academy is a lifestyle driven business focused on delivering the highest level of service on a personal level . Head Instructor and owner has been teaching kitesurfing for 10 years and is an IKO Level 2 Instructor with over 1200 hours of instruction.

The Kitesurf Academy offers a personalised program, tailored to your ability and progression goals , in a professional but comfortable atmosphere. Catering for riders of all levels and needs from beginner to pro, we only use the best equipment available (Core Kites)

Our approach has proven successful purely through the feedback, happiness and rate of learning we see everyday. Only teaching in small personal groups of either 1:2:1 or 2:1 ratios depending on lesson structure and learning objectives.

Teaching with BBTalkin  - A game changing Wireless Bluetooth Communication system  - Just think waterproof walkie talkie . Its a real time teaching aid allowing immediate feedback and clarification from the student if needed

Under 12
We never want to stop a young enthusiast who’s passionate to get into kiting, but the sport does require a certain amount of mental maturity due to the safety and technical considerations. So, having met/discussed learning options with both child and parent, we can tailor a 1:1 program of training from any age. (Minimum requirement is 35kg body weight)
