National Museums NI preserves, protects and promotes Northern Ireland's cultural assets, knowledge and collective memory. We create shared and trusted spaces to explore who we are, where we have come from, and where we might we be going.
What makes us sustainable...
Museums shape our view of the world, helping us understand who we are and the world we live in. They influence our thinking and behaviour and are uniquely positioned to make a difference.
As custodians of cultural and natural heritage, museums play a crucial role as educators, enablers and beacons of sustainable practice.
We were the first public sector organisation within Northern Ireland to measure our carbon footprint across all of our operations for Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
National Museums NI are committed to maintaining and improving the biodiversity on our sites at Ulster Folk and Transport Museums at Cultra through All Ireland Pollinator Plan actions and restoration of ancient woodland in partnership with Woodland Trust and TCV.
