Local silversmith Ruth, runs NI Silver. She is renowned for her Northern Ireland landmarks jewellery pieces and bespoke services. Ruth also runs a number of workshops, throughout the year, giving visitors the chance to make their own pieces such as rings and bangles.
Of her business, she says "NI Silver, is an environmentally friendly micro-business. We use recycled silver, are one of the only Fair-Trade providers in NI, utilise solar energy for our electricity and hot water, use electric cars for deliveries and harvest rain-water for our garden. We want to harness the spirit of our local community to help us retain and reclaim our local environment by undertaking small tasks within our region.
NI Silver would like to do its bit for the environment, even though we're small, there's a lot we could change. However, if we could all work together we could make our community a nicer place to live in; wouldn't that be fantastic".
