Clandeboye Lodge is a 4 star boutique hotel, in a secluded woodland setting on the outskirts of Bangor, only 15 minutes from Belfast. Our Coq & Bull Brasserie located within the Hotel and boasting a beautifully lit outdoor terrace is a popular standalone Brasserie providing good, honest, locally sourced, seasonal food.
With a separate Events complex located on the grounds, Clandeboye Lodge offers unique and aspirational spaces for all types of events. From Weddings to focused business meetings to gala dinners, we add value through our beautiful location; our eclectically stylish interiors; our excellent technical infrastructure and our experienced and professional events team.
What makes us sustainable...
Here is a highlight of five sustainable steps we've taken to create a greener future for our guests, staff, and the planet. These steps are just a fraction of our overall commitment to sustainability. We have implemented numerous initiatives and our Green Team are constantly exploring new ways to reduce our environmental impact.
- Waste Reduction – reducing waste and recycling. In conjunction with our waste management partner all waste collected from the Clandeboye Lodge is 100% diversion from landfill;
- Food Provenance - Sustainability and seasonality is at the heart of our menu offerings - both in the Coq & Bull brasserie and the events held at the hotel;
- Water Conservation - Responsible resource management, including water conservation, is a priority for us. We have implemented various measures to minimise water consumption without compromising guest comfort;
- Energy Saving - we focus on energy conservation and efficiency. Throughout our hotel and events buildings, we have taken sustainable steps to minimise energy consumption with the installation of solar panels, a sedum green roof and EVC;
- Biodiversity - Our gardens feature a variety of plants that support a range of habitats and attract diverse insect species. Our landscape contractors have achieved Biodiversity Platinum Status and employ environmentally sound practices.
Accreditations
The Clandeboye Lodge are currently working towards their Green Tourism and Green Meetings Accreditations and hope to have these in place by September 2024.
“At Clandeboye Lodge, we recognise the effects of climate change on our landscape and coastline, and have been working behind the scenes to reduce our environmental impact. We believe that small individual efforts can collectively lead to significant change, which is why we are absolutely delighted to be accepted as an associate member of the ANDBC Sustainable Giants. We look forward to collaborating with other businesses to learn from one another and share best practices in our mission to ensure Ards and North Down as a sustainable destination." Ian Smith, General Manager
