The Times have included The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn, in their 25 cosiest places to stay, in an article published on 7 February 2024.
Described as having "fireside nooks and forest views", the article paints a beautiful picture of what is one of the island's oldest inns. It is nestled between the two cities, Belfast and Bangor, on the skirts of Crawfordsburn Country Park, which meets to the North Down Coastal Path.
The article says, "Check in at this Jacobean inn where the author CS Lewis honeymooned. Its traditional fireside nooks, crannies and bedrooms have restorative views of the forests of Crawfordsburn Country Park, yet are only five minutes’ drive from Bangor’s seafront and ten minutes in the car from Belfast. The restaurant also hedges its bets, serving pub-grub classics as well as French-inspired dishes. If only there were a spa, eh? Ahem, there is. A dinky treetop one with hot tub, outdoor pool, sauna and steam."
