The holiday season is set to sparkle in Newtownards as the much-loved Christmas market returns to the town centre on Saturday 30 November, organised by Ards and North Down Borough Council in partnership with Newtownards Chamber of Trade.
From 10am to 7pm, visitors can dive into the festive spirit with Christmas shopping, mini funfair rides, and a lively atmosphere in Conway Square. Community groups and performances will spread holiday cheer throughout the day.
From 4pm, visitors can revel in a festive disco and watch for roaming Christmas characters. The Rock Choir will delight the audience with Christmas carols outside Ards Arts Centre, creating the ideal atmosphere for the evening’s main event.
At 6pm, the Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Alistair Cathcart, will join special guest Santa in Conway Square to officially switch on the Christmas lights, marking the start of the holiday season in Newtownards.
Embark on a festive adventure! Pick up your passport at any participating business or attraction from 10am to 3pm. Participants can visit 13 locations around the town, collecting stamps at each participating business. This fun-filled trail is perfect for families and friends looking to explore the town and get into the Christmas spirit.
