18th June 2021
If you want to find something fun to do with the family this summer, your local Visitor Information Centres in Bangor, Newtownards and Portaferry (located in Exploris Aquarium) are here to help!
With the sun shining and the schools out for summer, everyone wants to find somewhere fun to go. So take the stress out of deciding and make the most of your summer by popping into a Visitor Information Centre where the friendly staff will inspire you with ideas for fun filled local day trips and perfect staycation spots!
Explore what Ards and North Down has to offer and make memories at some of the best outdoor activities, leisure facilities and eateries.
From seaside air and sandcastles to the rolling hills of our beautiful countryside or the wonderful parks and gardens, the choice is yours – head off to find your piece of paradise.
Get outdoors and take in the beautiful views of Scrabo Hill from the top, explore the past at The North Down Museum and Ulster Folk Museum, or stride out along the new farmland trails at Mount Stewart.
If your little ones love animals, be sure to visit Exploris Aquarium (Portaferry) and discover an underwater world of fun and meet the new penguins. Visit Castle Espie Wildfowl and Wetland Centre (Comber) to meet the ducklings, or the Ark Open Farm (Bangor Road, Newtownards) for an encounter with all creatures big and small!
Ask about some of the great experiences on offer - from paddle boarding to food tours or a guided walk with friends and family. You can even take the dog!
And if you fancy heading a little further afield, visitor guides and maps for all the key destinations across Northern Ireland are available to help plan your break.
