At the heart of Bangor lies Irelands largest marina where over 600 yachts lie berthed. You can watch sailing races around the lough or take a boat trip to unique island bird sanctuaries. Metres away from the beach and Ballyholme Yacht Club, ideal for the many sailing events hosted there. Wind surf, paddle board or swim from long golden beaches or trace a fascinating Christian heritage in a town founded by Saint Comgall nearly 1500 years ago. In August the town comes alive as The Open House Festival puts on one-off music, food and drink events...not to be missed!

From Bangor cycle along beautiful coastal scenery to lovely forest parks and wooded glens. Relax in atmospheric pubs or enjoy freshly caught fish in some of our great local restaurants.
