About

1 of a group of 7 cottages that can accommodate parties of up to 34 people.

Barley Cottage is a quaint country cottage suitable for 5 people. It is fully equipped with all mod cons including freezer, dishwasher, digital satellite TV, video and mobile phone. The rustic quaintness permeates downstairs to natural wooden kitchen, dresser and dining room furniture. All are handcrafted locally using many of the original materials from the farm.

A red brick fireplace houses a wood burning stove, although central heating is provided throughout. The half door opens out onto a large terrace where guests can enjoy the open air using the barbeque and patio furniture provided.

Both bedrooms (1 with single bed and 1 with double bed and single bed) have original time-worn beams, a reminder of the age of this farmstead. The bathroom is spacious and bright and has both bath and shower.
Open Fire with free logs.

We have recently opened five farm trails that lead to a purpose built Bird hide, Badger hide and panoramic viewing platform . Many parts of Scotland, and the Isle of Man are visible from this vantage point.
*****We have recently stocked OUR OWN PRIVATE LAKE at Barnwell so guests can now go fishing for trout and carp.****

In 2015 Barnwell Farm Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
